VAT Cut Urged For Energy Saving Measures

The government has been urged to reduce VAT on energy saving products and measures installed as part of the Green Deal scheme.

A group of 26 different organisations has called on the government to reduce VAT to 5% from the current 20% rate on energy efficiency measures installed in businesses and homes under the new scheme.

Under the scheme, both homes and businesses can receive financial help to install measures that will help reduce energy use and carbon emissions. The scheme is one of the measures brought in by the government to ensure the UK meets targets that have been set to reduce carbon emissions by 80 percent on the 1990 level by 2050.

If your business needs help on reducing carbon emissions, whether it’s because you’re involved in the CRC (Carbon Reduction Commitment) Energy Efficiency scheme and want to save money on your costs or just because you’re concerned about your carbon footprint and your company’s impact on the environment, you should contact the experts at Apollo Enviro.
